SURAAA has been travelling with self-driving shuttles since 2017 – since 2018 even daily and according to a timetable, making SURAAA a pioneer in Austria. Since 2021, SURAAA has been taking part in the largest initiative for testing autonomous vehicles in Europe and worldwide, the EU flagship project SHOW. SURAAAA is currently involved in a total of 15 applied R&D projects on the topics of autonomous driving, AI and C-IST.

SURAAA is working on the suitability of autonomous shuttles for everyday use and thus on completely new mobility solutions for the first/last mile for local public transport and for the transport of small goods.

In 2024, SURAAA operated an autonomous fleet and an autonomous on-demand service for the first time in Austria.
